Number of inhabitants
According to the 2011 census , 3 people lived in the village, all were Estonians [3] (no Setos were highlighted in the list of nationalities [4] [5] ).
In 2000, the number of villagers was 4 [6] ; as of October 31, 2018 - also 4 people [7] .
Description
The village is located 26 kilometers east of the county center - the city of Võru , and 19 kilometers southwest of the volost center of Värska . Altitude - 104 meters [8] .
History
The written sources of 1585 - 1587 mention the Zherebtsovo desert , 1652 - Zherebtsovo, ~ 1866 - Zherebtsova, 1875 - Seretsova Seretsova , 1904 - Seretsova , Tseretsova , Zherebtsovo, 1922 - Sereptsevo , 1923 - Serebtsova , 1937 - Seretsuva [2] .
In the XVIII century, the village belonged to the parish of Taeluva [2] .
Until the 1920s, the southern part of the village of Seretsyuv was an independent village called Suryavina [2] .
In 1977–1997 , Seretsyuvya was part of the village of Half [2] .
The origin of the toponym
The name of the village may come from the Russian word "stallion" [2] . In Russia , in particular, in the Pskov region there are several villages of Zherebtsovo .
