Content

Description

The total length reaches 30–33.5 cm. The head is small with small eyes. The body is cylindrical with smooth scales . There is no sharp transition between the head and the body. The tail is moderate - up to 7 cm. The color varies from yellowish, reddish-brown to gray, but the tip of the head and neck are darker - they are dark brown or even black.

Lifestyle

Inhabits meadows , shrubs and foothills. Active at night, eating centipedes .

Reproduction

This is an egg laying snake. The female lays 2 to 4 eggs.

Distribution

Lives in southeast Africa: South Africa , Swaziland , Angola , Namibia , Botswana , Zimbabwe , Mozambique , Malawi , Democratic Republic of the Congo , Zambia , Tanzania .
