History
The park was established in 2009 on the basis of separate Nalychevo, Bystrinsky, Yuzhno-Kamchatsky and Klyuchevskoy parks to correct errors made during the creation of the original parks in 1995 using the newly approved law on PAs. In particular, the new park contains only lands of the state forest fund and “other” and did not require withdrawal of land plots from existing users and owners (the borders of the original parks included large gold-bearing deposits: Asachinskoye, Mutnovskoye, Rodnikovoye, Aginskoye).
Since August 2015, the Kohl River salmon reserve has been attached to the park.
