The son of Claude l'Obepina , a major government official and diplomat.
Best known as the Ambassador of France to England in the mid-1580s, the organizer of a series of unsuccessful conspiracies to free Mary Stuart [1] [2] (in this capacity, he became a character in the tragedy of Friedrich Schiller " Mary Stuart ").
Chancellor and keeper of the seal of the Order of the Holy Spirit (1606-1611). In the years 1611-1616 he was one of the three superintendents of finance (together with Jacques Auguste de Tu and ).
