The regional roads of Latvia are state roads (not belonging to the category of main roads), connecting administrative centers of the regions , or connecting them to cities of republican significance or main / regional roads, or connecting cities of republican importance.
Regional highways in Latvia are indicated by rectangular plates with the letter P in white and the serial number of the corresponding road on a dark blue background.
As of December 31, 2017, the length of regional roads in Latvia was 5,457 km, of which 4,626 km with asphalt or asphalt concrete pavement, and 831 km with gravel or crushed stone covering. [one]
