Born in 1864 into a peasant family in the Serbluzhitsky village of Kashecy. In 1879 he graduated from the Catholic Pedagogical College in Bautzen, after which he studied at the Luzhitsky Seminary in Prague until 1888. In 1885 he graduated from the Prague Lesser Grammar School . The last two years of his training took place in Cologne. In 1886 he joined the cultural and educational organization " Mother of Serbo-Luga ".
In 1890 he returned to Luzitsa, where until 1893 he served as vicar in the village of Kashecy and the city of Ostrits . From 1893 to 1896 he was a preacher and from 1896 until his death in 1920, he was the director of the rector's school in Bautzen.
During his studies in Prague and as a priest, he wrote several short stories, which were published in various years in the Serbo Luzhitsa periodical and were published in separate editions.
