Content
Etymology
The name of the village comes from the Arabic word “nehr” (river, canal) and the surname of the genus Khalilli, who founded the village [1]
History
The village of Negrekhalil in 1913, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Elizavetpol province, belonged to the Lyak rural community of Areshsk district [2] .
In 1926, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Azerbaijan SSR, the village belonged to the Lair of the Goychay district.
After the reform of the administrative division and the abolition of the counties in 1929, the Jardam village council was formed in the Agdash district of the Azerbaijan SSR .
According to the administrative division of 1961, the village of Nekhrakhalil was part of the Jardam village council of the Agdash district of the Azerbaijan SSR [3] . In 1977, the village Nehrahalil already had its village council [4] .
In 1999, an administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Nehrakhalil municipality of Agdash region was established [5] . In 2014, the Nehrakhalilsky municipality was abolished, the village became part of the Jardam-Kotanarchsky municipality.
Geography
Nehrahalil is located on the banks of the river Turianchay.
The village is located 4 km from the center of Kotanarch municipality, 8 km from the regional center Agdash and 242 km from Baku .
Nehrahalil is located at an altitude of 20 meters from sea level.

In the 1980s, the population was mainly engaged in cotton growing [8] .

The average annual temperature in the village is +15 ° C. The village has a steppe climate.
Infrastructure
In Soviet times, a dairy farm, a field camp were located near the village, an eight-year school and a library were located in the village [8] .
In the village there is a secondary school named after A. Safarov [10] .
Since 2018, a water supply system was built in the village, the Nehrakhalil-Kotanarh-Jardam-Tofiki-Shamsabad highway was built [11] .
