Annotation
Dune Navigators is a fascinating window into the very foundations of the mesmerizing, vibrant Dune Universe, the culmination of the Great Dune Schools trilogy, which takes place ten thousand years before Frank Herbert's Classical Dune. Every Dune fan knows about the mysterious navigators of the Space Guild, about the program of the Bene Gesserit sisters to remove the superman, about mentats - computer people specially trained to replace forbidden thinking machines. But so far, readers have little knowledge of the origins of their origin. Navigators mutating as a result of Spice's effects on creatures far superior to normal humans have made space travels possible across a burgeoning Empire. Their prophetic gift allows them to foresee safe paths through the Universe, while the starship engines “turn” space. Only industrial tycoon Joseph Wenport knows the secret to navigators, and he intends to build a commercial empire that spans the galaxy. But at every step Joseph is confronted by the power of anti-technological fanatics, zealots of the Butlerian movement led by the charismatic and dangerous Manford Torondo. They seek to reverse the new rebirth of humanity and to overthrow the Empire in the dark ages. And between these titanic forces lies the unpredictable new emperor, Roderick Corrino, forced to take the throne after the murder of his brother. Navigators are the key to the glorious future of humanity ... or the end of civilization.

But we think there are perhaps three more Dune novels after Heroes . We may go on to the founding of the great schools: Dad says there are five, but we're going to do it in three. You've got the Bene Gesserit - that would be The Sisterhood of Dune ; then there's The Mentats of Dune and The Swordmasters of Dune .
