"Red Archive" is a historical and scientific journal published in Moscow in 1922-1941 , first by the Central Archive of the RSFSR and the USSR, then by the Central Archive Directorate of the USSR and the RSFSR.

He came out 6 times a year (in 1922 - 1924 - irregularly); a total of 106 volumes were published. The “Red Archive” published archival materials on the history of the USSR (including the pre-October period), the Bolshevik party, the October Revolution , the Civil War of 1918-1920 , socialist construction in the USSR, international relations, as well as the life and work of prominent figures of the Communist Party and the Soviet state. Also in the journal were published documents related to the preparation and unleashing of the 1st World War 1914-1918. The first editor-in-chief was V.P. Polonsky .

A major role in the creation and operation of the magazine was played by M. N. Pokrovsky ; V. V. Adoratsky , N. F. Belchikov , S. N. Valk , B. P. Kozmin, N. K. Krupskaya , V. V. Maksakov, N. L. Meshcheryakov, V. I. took part in the journal Nevsky , V.I. Pitcheta, F.A. Rotshtein , B.E. Syroechkovsky, E.V. Tarle , E.M. Yaroslavsky and other historians and party leaders.
