Biography
Guy Gostilius belonged to a noble plebeian family. In 209 BC e. he held the position of praetor urbanus [1] , and subsequently his empire continued until 204 BC. e. As a prophet, Tubul was first in Etruria : there he took measures to prevent Arretius from switching to the side of Hannibal (208 BC). In 207, Guy Gostilius transferred his army to Capua . Before this, according to one of the sources, he defeated the Carthaginians in the lands of the Sallentines, having killed 4 thousand enemy soldiers [2] , but the antiquologists are not sure of the truth of this message. Subsequently, until 204 BC. e. Tubul was located in Kapuya, and nothing is known about his activities [3] .
Descendants
Presumably the son of Gaius Gostilius was a member of the diplomatic mission of 168 BC. e. to Egypt of the same name [3] .
