History

One of the oldest genera of wasps , the age of prints of which is from 136 to 122 Ma ( Cretaceous ) [1] [2] .

Distribution

Great Britain , China , Mongolia , Russia (Buryatia, Bayssa) [1] [2] .

Description

Small wasps, less than 1 cm long (up to 2 cm in Baissodes magnus ). The head is small, the eyes are large. Pedicellus is much smaller than the scape of the antennae. The chest is compact, short. Legs are short, thick, legs with spines. Front wing with a pointed radial cell. It differs from the related genera ( Oryctobaissodes and Trichobaissodes ) with pantyhose with denticles, peaked 3r and elongated 2rm [1] [2] .

Classification

Includes 4 fossil species. The genus was first isolated in 1975 by the Soviet paleoentomologist Alexander Pavlovich Rasnitsyn [1] [2]
