Biography

Born on January 1, 1945 in the village of Olkhovtsy, Tyachiv district, Transcarpathian region of the Ukrainian SSR in a peasant family.

He graduated from the Lviv Agricultural Institute with a degree in agricultural science, also graduated from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Ukrainian SSR, has the title of candidate of philosophical sciences.

He was a member of the CPSU. Until July 1991, he held the post of first secretary of the Rakhiv district committee of the Communist Party of the Ukrainian SSR.

In 1990, during the first alternative parliamentary elections in the Ukrainian SSR, he was nominated as a candidate for People’s Deputies, on March 4, 1990 in the first round he was elected People’s Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the XII convocation (hereinafter - the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of I convocation ) from the Rakhiv constituency No. 174 of the Transcarpathian region, scored 51.39% of the vote among 3 candidates. In parliament, he was a member of the Commission on Veterans, Pensioners, Disabled, Repressed, Poor and Internationalist Warriors. The deputy powers expired on May 10, 1994.

Since 1992, he served as Deputy Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Tyachevsky District of Transcarpathian Region, as the head of the regional department of social security.

In the 1994 parliamentary elections, he was a candidate for people's deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the second convocation , in the first round he received 8.92% of the vote and took 3rd place among 16 candidates, was not elected.

In recent years, he lived in his native village of Olkhovtsy. He died on May 11, 2017 in Tyachiv [1] .
