Horsid is a Somali football club located in the city of Horsid , Somalia . Horsid is a seven-time Somalia first division football champion . A team of the Somali Armed Forces, Horsid was one of the most formidable and titled football clubs in the country. After the outbreak of civil war, he ceased to exist, but was revived in 2013 by General Dahir Aden Elmi, commander of the Armed Forces of Somalia. General Elmi resumed the existence of all the teams of the Horsid Sports Club, with an emphasis on the football team, which again began to compete in Somalia's First Football Division. In 2017, Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Hassan, a young officer of the Corps of the General Staff of Somalia, was appointed its chairman. Since then, the club has undergone positive changes that have led the club to regain its former glory.

KESAF Club Cup
Horsid is the first club from Somalia's first football division to reach the final of the KESAF Club Cup . [1] In 1977, they reached the semifinals, where they lost to the Luo Union team from Kenya , with a score of 2-1. [2] In the following seasons, they reached the semi-finals of the competition twice, barely losing to Simbe from Tanzania in 1978, and AFC Leopards from Kenya in 1979. The matches were held in Somalia. [3]
