Zavyalovskoye field (Kazakhstan)

Zavyalovskoye deposit is a coal deposit in the territory of the Nurinsky district of the Karaganda region , 90 km west of Karaganda . It is known since 1910. In the years 1910-1912, the British concessionaires were engaged in coal mining. Exploration work was carried out in 1953-1969. The field is confined to the western part of the Karaganda quasisynclinorium . It is composed of carbonate sediments of the Devonian and coal-bearing strata of the Carboniferous periods. Coal deposits are composed of mudstones , siltstones , sandstones , coal seams, tuffites and are divided into Aschyly-ayryk, Karaganda, Dolinsk and Tentek groups. Structurally, the deposit is an extended trough , limited from the east and west by faults of the meridional direction. The thickness of coal seams is from 0.7 to 3.3 m. The ash content of coal is 21–28%, the density is 1.4 g / cm³, the sulfur content is 2.3–3.6%, and phosphorus is 0.02–0.11%. Coal is mined by the mine.
