Club career
Tash started playing football in his hometown of Aydin at the Aydinspor club. In 1949, he received special permission that allowed him to play for the main team. In 1951, at the age of 18, he moved to Istanbul to study at the university and soon became a player in the local Besiktas . Until 1959, Tash combined performances for the club with his studies, during which time he won twice. After graduation, he decided to move to Germany, where his father lived from 1913 to 1917, because he wanted to learn German and work in the Kicker magazine [1] . On his own initiative, he went to Cologne to play for the club of the same name . Club president Franz Kremer decided to sign Tasha, who became one of the first Turks in the German football major league and the first Turkish player in the team [2] . At the time of Tasha’s transition, there were only 18 Turks in Cologne, including staff at the consulate [1] .
In 1960, Tash as part of the club, which became the champion of the western zone of the championship , reached the final of the German football championship against Hamburg (2: 3); during this tournament, coach used it in all games. However, he did not participate in this match; according to rumors, this was due to the fact that Kremer wanted to use exclusively German players in the final match. The following season, Tash lost his place in the starting lineup, and Cologne again became the first in the western zone, but failed to reach the final of the championship. The player also decided to start training for a coach at the German Sports Academy under the direction of Hennes Weisweiler . In this regard, he wanted to stay in the region and after leaving Cologne he moved to the club of the second division , where he ended his playing career in 1962.
Team Career
March 14, 1954 Tash made his debut for the national team of Turkey in the qualifying match for the 1954 World Cup against Spain (1: 0). Since the national teams of Spain and Turkey had an equal number of points in the group, a decisive playoff match was assigned between these teams for reaching the World Cup, which ended with a score of 2: 2. Joshkun played the whole match, and the Turkish national team qualified for the first time in history due to the draw. Tash was included in the team’s application for this tournament , but appeared on the field only in an additional match for reaching the playoffs against Germany (2: 7). This match was the last for a player in the national team.
Further years
In 1962, Tash accepted the offer from the Cologne Ford plant to work in the sales planning department and simultaneously train the factory team [1] . He later served as head coach at Lindlar and Cologne Victoria. Currently, Tash is still involved with football and works for the Mid Rhine Football Association. He lives in Germany since 1959. Joshkun married a German woman and became a German citizen .
