Biography
Born in a Latvian family. In the state security organs since 1919, member of the RCP (b) since 1920. From March 23, 1936 to July 14, 1936 he was deputy head of the special department of the state security department of the NKVD of the BSSR . The head of the special department of the NKVD of the Omsk region until December 14, 1936, then the head of the counterintelligence department of this region until August 10, 1937. During the repressions in the NKVD, he repeatedly quit and recovered. Since October 1, 1940 - Head of the Fire Department of the UNKVD of the Omsk Region. In 1943-1951 - Deputy People's Commissar ( Minister ), then 1st Deputy, in 1951-1953 Minister of the Interior of the Latvian SSR. Dismissed “on facts discrediting the rank of officer ” in May 1955.
