Biography
Zheng Meizhu started volleyball in 1975 at the Fuzhou Sports School. In 1977, she was accepted into the Fujian team, and two years later, at the age of 16, she made her debut in the Chinese team , having won the Asian Championship . Zheng Meizhu's next challenge to the national team occurred in 1982, when a young volleyball player took part in the World Championships in Peru and was among those who brought their country the first “gold” of the world championships.
Despite the low growth for the striker, Zheng Meizhu firmly entrenched in the main team and won with her a total of 8 official international tournaments, including the Olympics in 1984 , the World Cup in 1985 and two World Championships (in 1982 and 1986 ). After the “bronze” of the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Zheng Meizhu completed her playing career with the national team, and in 1991 she left for Germany , where she played for local teams for 5 years.
After leaving sports, Zheng Meizhu continued to live in Germany, working in a medical rehabilitation center for the elderly. In 2008 she returned to China [1] .
