Biography
According to Homer , Telemachus at a young age went in search of his father, who had left for the Trojan War when Telemachus was still a baby. On the advice of the goddess Athena , accompanying Telemachus in the image of the Mentor , he went to Nestor in Pylos and to Menelaus and Elena [3] in Sparta for news of his father. In Sparta, Telemachus learned from Menelaus about Proteus ' prediction regarding the return of Odysseus.
Penelope's grooms, not wanting Telemachus to return home, conspired and ambushed him on the way back. But, thanks to the advice of Athena, Telemachus was able to avoid mortal danger. Returning home, Telemachus met his father at the swineherd Eumeus in the form of a beggar; Odysseus revealed himself to him, and Telemachus helped him with the murder of the suitors, and then accompanied him to the elder Laertes .
According to post-Merger legends, Telemachus subsequently married Polikaste , the daughter of Nestor (who bore him a son Persepolis ), or Navsikai , the daughter of Alkinoi . According to other legends, he married Kirk [4] , who gave birth to his son Latina [5] .
He later killed Kirk to marry her daughter Cassiphon , and then died at the hands of Cassiphon [6] .
