Baro [1] ( French Baro ) is a city and suprefecture in Chad , located in the region of Gera . It is part of the department of Hera .

Geographical position
The city is located in the south of central Chad, north of the Abu Telfan Nature Reserve, at an altitude of 630 meters above sea level [2] . The village is located at a distance of approximately 414 kilometers east of the country's capital N'Djamena .
Population
According to the official census of 2009, the population of Baro was 48 158 people (22 995 men and 25 163 women). The population of the prefecture according to the age range was as follows: 53.2% - residents under 15 years old, 41.6% - between 15 and 59 years old and 5.2% - aged 60 years and older [3] .

The nearest airport is located in the city of Mongo [2] .
