Biography

V. Yu. Suzukey was born in with. Teeli Bai-Taiginsky district January 6, 1954 in a family of teachers [1] . In 1977 After graduating from the Moscow State Institute of Culture (MGIK), she got a job as a teacher at the Kyzyl School of Arts , then as a Deputy Director for Academic Affairs. Since 1985, he has been working at TIGPI in the cultural sector. Since 2002 - Scientific Secretary of TIGPI. In 1987 -88 years. passed a one-year internship at the Novosibirsk Conservatory and in 1989-1991 . two-year internship at the Research Institute of LGITMiK. In 1995, she defended her thesis on the theme “The Bourdon-Burton Foundation of the Traditional Instrumental Music of Tuvans” at the Russian Institute of Art History ( St. Petersburg ) [1] . In 2006, the Kemerovo University of Culture and Art defended a doctoral dissertation “Cultural and historical roots of the musical heritage of Tuvans: functioning and modernization in the twentieth century” [2] .

Scientific activity

The main ideas of the dissertation were reflected in a more detailed disclosure in scientific articles and monographs: “Tuvan traditional musical instruments” ( Kyzyl , 1989); “The problem of fret in Tuvan music” (Kyzyl, 1989), “The Bourdon-Burton Foundation of the traditional instrumental music making of Tuvans” (Kyzyl, 1993) [2] . In 2004, she released the video “Tuva Music”, which addresses the theoretical problems of Tuvan traditional music. With the participation of V. Yu. Suzukey, a book was written by the famous ethnomusicologist Ted Levin Where Rivers and Mountains Sing: sound, music and nomadism in Tuva and beyond. lang (Publishing House of Indiana University, USA , 2006, 291 pp.) Based on many years of research on traditional Tuvan folk music, V. Yu. Suzukey wrote a fundamental generalized study, “Tuva Musical Culture in the 20th Century” ( Moscow , 2007 ). In total, V. Yu. Suzukey has about 100 publications, of which 14 are monographs and separately published works, 12 are VAK works [2] .
