Biography
Early life
Kenneth Alain McDuff was born March 21, 1946 in the town of Roserboot ( Texas , USA ) in a large family of John and Eddie McDuff. He was the fifth of six children. His father owned a construction company, and his mother was a housewife. Parents indulged their children, Kenneth was their favorite and the future killer was practically not denied anything. At school, Kenneth studied poorly, and had a reputation as a troubled teenager, often beating weaker classmates and junior students. Once, in high school, a stronger student beat McDuff in front of the whole school, as a result of which the future killer lost all his authority and dropped out without having received a certificate.
After this, McDuff, who did not have a complete education, was forced to get a job as a handyman in his fatherβs company, as well as earn money by mowing the local residents. Soon after his 18th birthday, Kenneth McDuff was accused of committing a series of 12 thefts from the homes of residents, where he mowed the lawn. In the same 1964, the court sentenced him to 4 years in prison, but for good behavior he was released in December 1965 . However, just a few days after his release, McDuff again got into a fight and went to prison for several more days.
The 1966 Murders
On August 6, 1966, 20-year-old Kenneth McDuff, along with 19-year-old Roy Dale Green, poured concrete at one of the construction sites supervised by John McDuff. After completing the work, Magduff and Grinn, the first one decided to "ride" around the district by car, since, according to Grinn, McDuff told him that he wanted to meet some girl. Around 22:00, on the basketball court in Everman McDuff and Grinn spotted three young people: 18-year-old Robert Brand, his girlfriend, 16-year-old Edna Louise Sullivan, and 16-year-old Mark Dunman, cousin of Brand. Stopping a few tens of meters from them both got out of the car. Suddenly, according to Green, McDuff grabbed a 38-caliber revolver and, under his threat, forced all three teenagers to climb into the trunk of their car. After that, the criminals took the teenagers out of town to the field, where McDuff released 16-year-old Edna Sullivan from the trunk and shot both guys. Grinn helped hide the traces of the crime. After which the criminals drove Edna in their car for several hours in turn forcing her, in the end, McDuff strangled the girl and threw her body in roadside bushes outside the city.
The next day, the criminals got rid of their weapons, and McDuff completely washed the car, but Grinn could not stand the nerves because one of the victims was the brother of his acquaintance, and then Green told all the parents of the murdered guy who convinced him to surrender to the police. Already on the evening of August 7, 1966, Roy Dale Green and Kenneth McDuff were arrested on suspicion of having committed a triple murder.
Judgment and Release
A court that same year convicted Kenneth McDuff of three murders and sentenced him to death in an electric chair . Roy Dale Grinn was convicted of complicity and sentenced to 25 years in prison. McDuff's sentence was later commuted and commuted to life imprisonment . Grinn was released on parole in 1977 . Shortly afterwards, McDuff's father hired a good lawyer to prove his sonβs innocence.
As a result, McDuff began to write numerous requests for early release and prove that the murders were committed by Grinn, and McDuff was only an accomplice. Finally, thanks to the efforts of a lawyer, McDuff's guilt of the killings themselves was called into question and spent 23 years in prison, partly due to overcrowding in Texas prisons, Kenneth MacDuff was released early on October 11, 1989 .
Murder Series and Second Arrest
Upon his release, Kenneth McDuff got a job at a gas station and applied to Texas State Technical College in Waco , to the department for people who did not finish school. However, only a few weeks later, McDuff was returned to the penitentiary institution for the threat of murder to a local resident in Rosbud. Nevertheless, on December 18, 1990, Kenneth McDuff, through the mediation of his mother, who hired qualified lawyers, was released again.
It is assumed that already three days after the release, the 31-year-old Sarafia Parker became the victim of McDuff. Later, prostitutes Brenda Thompson and 17-year-old Reggina De Ann Moore became victims of Kenneth. In 1991, McDuff killed Colleen Reid, abducting her in the presence of several witnesses. He moved to Kansas City and got a job as a scavenger under the name Richard Fowler, but was identified and arrested. In total, the offender was suspected of killing 14 people. McDuff was sentenced to death, and in November 1998 the sentence was carried out [1] .
