Biography

Born on February 13, 1959 in Loveland , Ohio , USA . In 1981, she graduated from Ohio University , where she attended the last year of literary art courses with Daniel Kees . In 1984 she defended her thesis on English literature at New York University and received a master's degree in English literature [1] . She worked as a teacher in college, worked as a technical secretary, a teacher in the city of Shijiazhuzhang , China for a year [1] .

In 1988, under the male pseudonym, Michael Galloglach published her first story, “All in a Day's Work” [1] . In 1992, she entered into marriage with Bob Eger. In the same year, the first novel of the writer, China Mountain Zhang, received the James Tiptree Jr. Award and was nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards . Then she also published a number of short stories and three novels - “Half the Day is Night” (1994), “Mission Child” (1998, based on the story “Child of the Missionary”) and “Necropolis” (2001, based on the story of the same name).

In 2004, the writer was diagnosed with Hodgkin 's disease, a disease that she eventually managed to overcome [2] . In 2009, he co-founded the company No Mimes Media, which specializes in the development of video games of alternative reality [3] . Before that, she also worked for 4orty2wo Entertainment.
