The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the RSFSR was the state authority in the RSFSR in 1959–1990. The Ministry was established on the basis of the RSFSR Law of November 26, 1959 “On Approving the Decree of the Presidium of the RSFSR Supreme Council“ On the formation of the Union-Republican Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the RSFSR ”and on amending Article 54 of the Constitution of the RSFSR”. Reorganized on July 14, 1990 and transformed into the RSFSR State Committee on Science and Higher Education (RSFSR Law No. 101-I dated July 14, 1990 “On Republican Ministries and State Committees of the RSFSR”). During the entire existence of the ministry, two of its leaders were appointed:
