The collapse of the viaduct in Genoa is a man-made disaster in Italy on the Morandi Bridge overpass (also known as the Polchever Bridge ) of the A10 Genoa - Savona highway ( European route E80 ). On the morning of August 14, 2018, one of the two central pillars of the viaduct collapsed, and with it a 200-meter span, which at that moment contained more than 30 cars and three trucks [1] . According to preliminary data, 43 people died, 4 of them are children [2] [3] .

Circumstances
The cause of the disaster is still unknown [4] , but it is noted that the collapse of the bridge could have contributed to the storm that erupted in the morning on the day of the disaster.
The collapse of the 200-meter span of the Polchever’s automobile bridge occurred at 11:36 local time on August 14, 2018 on the A10 motorway in northern Italy in the city of Genoa [5] . Reasons and Investigation

On August 15, the prosecutor of Genoa Francesco Cozzi called the cause of the collapse a human error, it is necessary to collect documents and evidence for the construction and maintenance of the bridge. Earlier, the Minister of Economics assigned the entire responsibility to the company Autostrade per l'Italia, which serves all the country's roads. Mourning declared in Genoa - two days on August 15 and 16. On August 18-19, nationwide mourning was declared.
