Team Placement in Group Round
In a group round, a team’s place is determined by the number of points scored: the more points, the higher the place. If two or more teams have the same number of points, the following criteria are used:
- 1) more points scored in personal meetings between applicants;
- 2) the best goal difference in personal meetings between applicants;
- 3) a greater number of goals in personal meetings between applicants;
- 4) If, after applying the criteria from “a” to “c”, the two teams still have equal indicators, to determine the final tournament position, the criteria from “a” to “c” apply exclusively to matches involving these two teams. If this procedure also does not allow a final decision to be made, then the criteria from “e” to “i” are used:
- 5) the best goal difference in all matches of the group stage;
- 6) a greater number of goals scored in all matches of the group stage;
- 7) a penalty shootout if teams with the same indicators on all points play in the last match of the group stage
- 8) the behavior of the teams in the spirit of “fair play” in the final tournament;
- 9) lots.
- 2) the best goal difference in personal meetings between applicants;
