The 4th edition of the Tour of Alberta is a multi-day road cycling race along the roads of the Canadian province of Alberta . The race consisted of 5 stages and was held from 1 to 5 September 2016 in the framework of the UCI America Tour 2016 (category 2.1 ).
The winner of the race was the American cyclist Robin Carpenter from the team " Holowesko Citadel Racing Team ". [one]

The invitation to the race from the organizers took two teams of the world tour . Also the UnitedHealthcare pro-continental team and 9 continental teams were invited. Each team could consist of no more than 8 cyclists. At the start of the competition went 99 athletes.
