Gorozhaninov, Yuri Ivanovich

Born in the city of Cherdyn , Perm region . In 1970 he graduated from the Perm Polytechnic Institute with a degree in automotive engineer.

After graduation, from 1970 to 1974 he worked at the Avtozapchast plant (the city of Roslavl , Smolensk region ), first as a deputy chief technologist, and then as a chief metallurgist. From 1974 to 1988 he worked at the KamAZ Production Association (the city of Naberezhnye Chelny , Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ). He served as deputy chief metallurgist, director of an aggregate plant.

In 1988 he was appointed General Director of UralAZ Production Association , after the reorganization of the enterprise he became President and General Director of UralAZ OJSC ( Miass , Chelyabinsk Region ).

In 1989 he was elected People's Deputy of the USSR . Acted as a deputy until the dissolution of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1991 .

Yuri Gorojaninov made a significant contribution to the technical re-equipment of UralAZ OJSC, the creation of a new technical base for the production of heavy vehicles of the Ural family, as well as the production of timber trucks and Ural-Iveco vehicles with a carrying capacity of 15 and 18 tons. It was he who owned the idea of ​​the first rally " Paris - Beijing ", in which the Urals began their journey from the banks of the Seine River and went to conquer the capital of China and its roads. As a leader, Gorozhaninov always tried to delve into all the processes occurring in production. Each week, he made rounds of production, held meetings with teams, where he had a direct dialogue with employees. He himself worked in a very busy schedule - from morning to nine to ten in the evening on weekdays, and half a day on Saturdays.

Professor of South Ural State University , full member of the Russian Academy of Quality Problems ( 1995 ). He has a number of copyright certificates for inventions, is the author of a number of printed works.
