System 1 [ ˈsɪstəm wʌn ], also referred to as Macintosh System Software [ ˈmækənˌtɔʃ ˈsɪstəm ˈsɔfˌtwɛr ] is a proprietary graphical operating system released by the American company Apple in 1984, which marked the beginning of the classic Mac OS line. Originally created for the Macintosh 128K - the first personal computer of the Macintosh family - powered by the Motorola 68000 microprocessor . In the same year she received one major update to version 1.1, and subsequently was replaced by System 2 [1] .
