Biography

Frederick Esther was born on June 8, 1972 in the commune of Mölan in the Yvelin department. He trained at the boxing club "La Plen".

Amateur career

First announced itself in 1995, becoming the champion of France in the first middle weight category. He took part in a match meeting with the US team in Atlanta, winning against a well-known American boxer Roshi Wales .

A year later, he became a member of the French national team and attended the European Championships in Vejle , where he was defeated at the preliminary stage. He boxed at international tournaments “Strandja” in Bulgaria and “Giraldo Cordoba Cardin” in Cuba - in the latter case he lost to the titled Cuban Alfredo Douverhel in the quarterfinals.

In 1997, he became the bronze medalist of the French championship, won the Acropolis Cup in Greece, visited the world championship in Budapest , where he was again stopped by the Cuban Douverhel in the 1/8 finals.

At the 1998 European Championship in Minsk, he defeated all his rivals in the first middleweight title and won the golden dignity. At the same time, in the standings of the French national championship, he became the silver medalist.

In 1999, he won the French championship and won bronze at the world championship in Houston - at the semi-finals stage he lost to Romanian Marian Simion .

Having won the French championship for the third time, in 2000 Esther went to the European Championship in Tampere and thanks to a series of successful performances he won the right to defend the country's honor at the Sydney Summer Olympics - he successfully passed the first two opponents in the category up to 71 kg, but in the third quarterfinal The match prematurely lost to Romanian Simion, who eventually became the silver medalist of this Olympic tournament [1] .

Professional career

Soon after the end of the Sydney Olympics, Frederick Esther left the location of the French team and in December 2000 he successfully made his debut on a professional level. Over the course of three years, he won fourteen victories, having suffered only one defeat - by the decision of the majority of the judges from the Portuguese with a negative record for Eliseu Nogueira.

In 2004, he won the right to challenge the French middleweight title, but lost points to compatriot Jean-Paul Mendy . On this defeat, he decided to end the career of a professional athlete.
