Saab 37 viggen

Saab 37 “Wiggen” ( Swede. Saab 37 Viggen , viggen - lightning strike) - the third generation Swedish multirole fighter . Developed by SAAB in the 1960s to replace the Saab 35 Draken fighter [3] . In 1971, adopted by the Swedish Air Force , where it was used until 2005 . The world's first mass-produced military jet aircraft with front horizontal tail (a biplane-tandem aerodynamic scheme - a “duck” with a closely spaced front wing - a scheme in which the main wing is located in the bevel of the stream from the front horizontal tail).

Modifications

  • AJ 37 - the first production modification. Attack aircraft with the ability to be used as a fighter. Issued 108 pcs. (serial numbers 37001-37108).
  • AJS 37 - modernization of AJ 37. Upgraded 49 aircraft, which were in service until March 2000.
  • Sk 37 - training aircraft. Structurally, it differs from the AJ-37 in the presence of the instructor’s cabin, equipped on the site of the removed front fuel tank, and the composition of the on-board equipment.
  • SK 37E - jammer, upgraded Sk 37. Upgraded 19 cars.
  • SH 37 - an all-weather reconnaissance aircraft designed to conduct reconnaissance over the sea. It differs from the AJ-37 in the bow and onboard equipment. From 1975 to 1979 27 aircraft were built (serial numbers 37900-37927).
  • AJSH 37 - Modernization of 25 SH 37, carried out from 1993 to 1997.
  • SF 37 - Weatherproof Photo Scout. It differs from the AJ-37 in the bow and onboard equipment. Built 28 aircraft (serial numbers 37950-37977).
  • AJSF 37 - Modernization of 25_types SF 37, carried out in the period from 1993 to 1997.
  • JA 37 - interceptor fighter.
