1833-1844 Perennial , biennial or annual plant with several upright to lying stems up to 50 cm long, branched several times from the base. The root is thin, pivotal.
Long-leaved leaves , petioles on top with dense pubescence. Stipules 4-6 × 2-3 mm, ovate-lanceolate. The leaf blade is 2-6 cm long and 3.5-8 cm wide, kidney-shaped in shape, with five semicircular and two incomplete marginal lobes, irregularly serrated on the edge; the upper surface of the plate is naked or with rare simple hairs, the lower one is also naked or along veins with rare simple hairs, sometimes pubescent completely.
Flowers in axillary whorls of 3-4 (10), rarely solitary, on hairy pedicels 2-5 cm long. Substrates of almost bare linear leaflets inferior to the calyx in length. Sepals are bell-shaped, with ovoid-triangular, almost bare lobes. The corolla is white, with drying, sometimes bluish, with oblong-lanceolate petals, at the apex shallowly notched.
Schizocarpia from 8-15 fruitlets , somewhat pubescent along the back.
Originating from temperate regions of Asia, the plant is currently distributed in temperate regions on all continents. In several European countries, as well as in the USA, Canada and the Dominican Republic, it is included in the lists of dangerous invasive species.
