Yuri Kachmazov actively participated in politics. In 2006, on behalf of the Group, SOK signed a tripartite agreement on the implementation of the innovative educational project “Worthy Citizens of a Great Country” between the United Russia party represented by Vyacheslav Volodin and the Samara Region Government represented by Konstantin Titov . The document provided for the modernization of at least 30 schools in the Samara region with funds from the federal and regional budgets with the involvement of 30 million rubles of SOK Group. ^[9]

He supported the election of Viktor Tarkhov as mayor of Samara, Viktor Khlystov as mayor of Syzran, Sergey Morozov as governor of the Ulyanovsk region, where, after the election, top managers of the SOK group of companies, one of which Rustem Shiyanov, was elected senator to the federation council from the Ulyanovsk region.
