History
April 16, 1907, a peasant-settler from the Kherson province Zinovy Ivanovich Fedorov received permission to build a bath.
Fedorovsky baths were built on the territory between the streets of Kabinetskaya , Irkutsk and Siberia near the Round Lake, on the site of which Kondratyuk Square is currently located. Near the reservoir Zinovy Fedorov dug wells and built a wooden building of trading baths on the corner of Vaganovskaya and Kabinetskaya streets. In a newspaper, the former conductor placed the following announcement:
New Central Trade. Bath Z. I. Fedorov. Kabinetskaya St. Own house. Arranged in a new model with a steam steam feed. Open daily. At the bath there is an experienced masseur-washer. Immediately need a fireman
At first, negative reviews about the bathhouse appeared on the pages of newspapers, among the shortcomings were dirty floors and poor shower work, nevertheless, a new washing facility began to be in demand, and in 1909 the entrepreneur replaced the wooden building with a new stone building.
In 1915, Fedorov died in Pyatigorsk, where he came to be treated for diabetes. After the death of Fedorov, the institution was run by the widow of an entrepreneur and her lover, the manager of Hungarian descent.
In the mid-1990s, attendance at the institution decreased markedly due to higher prices for services,
Closing and Demolition
In 2011, the municipality gave the building under a concession agreement to a private company, it was closed for reconstruction. However, the organization did not begin to restore the Fedorovsky baths, the company explained the refusal to repair the unacceptable condition of building structures. Then it was transferred to the same investor, though already under an investment agreement, part of the building’s area remained with the municipality [1] .
In 2013, the baths were demolished, after which they began to erect a six-story building in their place, which was supposed to accommodate a health complex, but in 2015 the construction was frozen [2] .
Interesting Facts
