Biography

Paulo Carvalho was born on February 26, 1986 in the city of Salvador , Bahia , Brazil . He was engaged in boxing at the same time as serving in the Brazilian Navy .

The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 2006 season, when he joined the main team of the Brazilian national team and visited the South American Games in Buenos Aires , from where he brought the bronze dignity award won in the first flyweight category - he was defeated at the semifinals Venezuelan Eduard Bermudez .

In 2007, he boxed at the home Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was already stopped at the preliminary stage by the American Luis Janes .

Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing - in the category of 48 kg the first two rivals in the tournament bracket successfully passed, but in the quarterfinal with a score of 5:21 he lost to Cuban Yampier Hernandez .

After the Beijing Olympics, Carvalho remained in the main boxing team of Brazil and continued to take part in major international tournaments. So, in 2009, he won the Pan American Championship in Mexico City and performed at the World Championships in Milan , where in the 1/8 finals he was defeated by the Mongol Purevdorjin Serdamba . He noted his performance at the President’s Cup in Baku, where he lost to the representative of Kazakhstan, Birzhan Zhakypov .

In 2010, he spoke at the World Series Boxing match meeting, representing the Miami team.

In 2015, he became the Brazilian champion in the first flyweight champion and won a silver medal at the World Military Games in Mungen .

At the Brazilian Championship in 2017 in Salvador, he became a silver medalist, losing in the final to Douglas Andradi [1] .
