Blume, Karl Wilhelm Hermann von

In 1852 he began serving in the 13th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army . In 1854 he became a lieutenant, in 1861 he became lieutenant. In 1865 he was promoted to captain with the appointment of adjutant to the Minister of War A. von Roon .

A participant in the Austro-Prussian-Italian War of 1866 (at the headquarters of the Minister of War) and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871, which he began as Major General of the General Staff, then participated in the battles of Saint-Priv - Gravelot Beaumont , Beaumont , Sedan and the siege of Paris .

Von Blume is known not so much for his practical military activities as for his military literary activities. He enriched military literature with many valuable works, including:

The author of scientific and military works on which the highest military leaders of the future world war studied, characterized by a deep approach to the political, economic, social, technical, mental and spiritual foundations of war.
