Jaredi leumi

Khardal (or HARDAL ; Hebrew חרד"ל abbr. From Hebrew חרדי לאומי , Haredi-leumi or Haredi-Dati-leumi letters. "National (religious) Haredim" [1] [2] , in the plural of Haredim ) - part of the religious Zionist Jewish community in Israel, which tends to the Haredim ideology (both in terms of views on the secular world, and in their harsh ( humra ) approach to Halakha ); sometimes this term is used to refer to that part of the Haredim community in Israel, which is leaning towards a religious Zionist ideology.

This term was coined by opponents (the Bnei Akiva movement) in the 1980s [1] . For this reason, it still bears a somewhat derogatory connotation. Some members of the community use this term [3] Most members of the community refer to themselves as Torani (lit. “Torah-oriented”) or Torani-leumi . Sometimes there is the term merkaznik , from the name of the yeshiva Merkaz ha-Rav , founded by Abraham Yitzhak Kuk .

Places

Many hardalniks live in settlements in the West Bank . The city of Kiryat Arba under the leadership of Dov Lior is considered a stronghold of hardal, as is Beit El under the leadership of Rabbi Melamed and Shlomo Aviner . Hardalim also prevails in many other localities, including Yitzhar , Bat Ain, Ofra , Shiloh , and the Hebrew Jewish part. There is a yeshiva in Ramat Gan and Yeruham , which are considered Yeshiva Hardal. Some neighborhoods of Jerusalem are also a stronghold of hardal, such as Har Nof, Kiryat Moshe, and the Jewish quarter of the Old City.
