Final
The main competition in women's javelin throwing was held on August 8, 2017 [3] . Lu Huihui was not able to repeat the record of Asia, which she set two days earlier in qualifying. In the final, he would have been enough to win, but Lou in her best attempt threw a spear only at 65.26 m and won a bronze medal. The main character of the finals was 36-year-old Barbora Shpotakova , who took the lead after the second throw at 66.76 m and became the winner with him. Two-time Olympic champion from the Czech Republic won the world championship for the second time in her career, ten years after the first victory. In total, Shpotakova participated in world championships six times and won four medals: two gold (2007, 2017) and two silver (2009, 2011).
Li Lingwei from China improved her personal best by more than a meter and took second place on the podium. 2016 Olympic champion Sarah Kolak finished in fourth place.
The 2017 World Cup Final was the first tournament in the history of javelin throwing, where all 12 participants showed results for 60 meters [4] .
