Biography
Dmitry Ilyich was known not only in the city where his entrepreneurial activity was developing. In 1900, the newspaper Government Gazette reported that Pachaji received the title of Honorary Citizen of the city for his charitable work and government activities. Of the awards, the merchant of the 2nd guild had a silver medal "For diligence", which was granted by D. I. Pachaji in 1894. At 25 years old (1876) he enrolled in the merchants of the 2nd guild and from that date was elected many times as a vowel of the mountains. Duma of Bakhchisaraysk, and also was a member of the city council [2] .
Dmitry Ilyich owned a large number of real estate: 2 forest warehouses, several taverns, a visiting yard, 2 warehouses of irrigation products, a grocery store and a shop, coffee shops in Eski-Yurt, a courtyard in Sevastopol and a courtyard in Yevpatoriya, as well as numerous gardens and other real estate generating income [2] .

Dmitry Ilyich was not only a major entrepreneur, merchant, state and public figure, he was also a trustee and philanthropist. The state archives of the ARC keep many documented acts on donations by Dmitry Pachaji. He invested in the construction of architectural objects that have survived to this day. A clear example of this is his house, Zemstvo schools in Bakhchisarai and other cities of Crimea . For large gratuitous contributions, Pachaji regularly received thanks from the government of the Tauride province, in particular, for the construction of a house in Simferopol and the building of the parish educational institution in Bakhchisarai [2] .
D. Pachaji invested personal money for the construction of monuments and monuments in honor of various historical events. He made money for the arrangement and opening of the monument - the fountain, in honor of the 300th anniversary of the reign of the Romanov dynasty . The opening of the monument took place in 1913, after Dmitry Ilyich died. During the opening, the emperor himself was present - Nicholas II . Today, part of this monument can be seen near the Khan's palace [2] .
Pachaji contributed funds for the construction and repair of bridges, the Khan's palace and other urban needs. Like other entrepreneurs and generally all the rich personalities of the city, Pachaji contributed money to the fight against diseases: tuberculosis and cholera [2] .
Dmitry Ilyich Pachaji died on June 13, 1912 . The widow Evgenia Vasilievna and her children decided to perpetuate the memory of her husband and gave their 460 square meters. m. plot in Eski-Yurt under the church named after the Fedorov Icon of the Mother of God. The ministers of this church needed permanent land, because they had to spend all their time in different places that were far from each other. February 21, 1913 the construction of the church began. After the temple was built, the remains of D. I. Pachaji and his grandson were buried under the bell tower of this church [2] [3] .
