Biography
From the old Ostseian count family .
In service since 1772, second lieutenant of the Horse Life Guards Regiment [1] . Since 1773, at the court service, he was granted the rank of chamber junker , in 1782 - chamberlain . In 1792 he was promoted to Privy Councilor . In 1796 he was granted the rank of hofmeister .
From 1796 to 1798, he was the manager of the Gofintendant Office . Since 1798, he was chief-hofmeister of the Imperial Court and the manager of Tsarskoye Selo . In 1799 he was promoted to full secret adviser , from 1799 to 1801 - the manager of the Cabinet of His Imperial Majesty . He was awarded the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky on November 19, 1796, and on December 18, 1799, the Great Commander Cross of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem . After the death of Paul I was dismissed on September 3, 1801. He lived with his family in Reveli, where he died.
Family
Wife (from 13.10.1773) - Baroness Ekaterina (Katarina Frederika) Ivanovna Shtakelberg (1753-02.03.1826), maid of honor of the yard (1769), daughter of the director of the Livonia Collegium of Savings, Baron Fabian Adam von Stackelberg; sister of the beloved maid of honor of the Empress Countess Elizabeth Orlova [3] . For the merits of her husband, she was granted the cavalry ladies of the Order of St. Catherine (05/29/1799). The last years of her life lived in Revel and was engaged in the education of grandchildren. According to Dolly Fickelmon, “the kind grandmother of Tiesenhausen was his second mother and sister, she lived in the province, among the simple and monotonous customs and customs of a small northern town” [4] . Children:
- Pavel Ivanovich (1774-1864), Actual Privy Councilor, Senator; He was married to Countess Julia Petrovna Palen (1782-1862), daughter of General P. A. Palen .
- Fedor Ivanovich (1782-1805), was married to Elizabeth , daughter of Field Marshal M.I. Kutuzov . Their daughters, Catherine (1803–1888) and Daria (1804–1863; married to Austrian Minister K. L. Fickelmon ), lived with their grandmother in Revel until 1815.
