Universal Tennis Rating ( UTR ) - ( Eng. Universal Tennis Rating ) is a global rating system for tennis players, the purpose of which is to create an objective, consistent and accurate indicator of players' skills in playing tennis. UTR evaluates all players on a single 16-point scale, not taking into account the age, gender, nationality or locale of the match. The starting data are the percentage of the last 30 matches won in the previous 52 weeks and the opponent’s rating. It was developed in 2008 and is now used by more than 40 national tennis federations (associations). All professional players in the Tennis Association (ATP) and Women's Tennis Association (WTA) have UTR, like most college players, as well as many junior tournaments around the world, as well as many players in league and adult tournaments. The UTR database includes the results of more than 6 million matches and 202 countries. More than 600,000 players have UTR. [one]
