Biography
In 1990, Wang Ling began to play volleyball in the junior team of Liaoning Province, but in the same year she was transferred to the Bayi army club, and in 1995 she made her debut in the main part of the army club team.
At the age of 18, Wang Lina made her debut in the Chinese team , taking part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta and becoming the silver medalist of the Olympics. Despite the small growth by modern volleyball standards, the young athlete firmly established herself in the national team, skillfully using her best qualities in the game - a high jump, a strong shot, a good reception. In 1997, Van Lina became the first champion of Asia , in 1998 - the winner of the Asian Games and the silver medalist of the World Cup , in 1999 - the two - time champion of Asia and the bronze medalist of the Grand Prix . After the failure at the 2000 Olympics , where the Chinese team dropped out of the fight for awards at the quarter-final stage, Wang Ling left the national team.
In 2003, Wang Lina was recognized as the best player in the Chinese championship and was again invited to the national team. In that year, she became the winner of the Grand Prix , the champion of Asia (for the third time) and the owner of the World Cup . In 2004, the Chinese team won the Olympic volleyball tournament in Athens and Wang Lina was one of the key players of the team, invariably leaving the starting lineup and becoming the third highest in her team (after Yang Hao and Zhang Ping ). After the Olympic triumph, the volleyball player finally completed her career in the national team. At the club level, Van Lina performed for another 8 years, after which she left the sport in 2012.
