In the middle of the XVII century, Ostaphius Kisel owned the town of Kisilin in Volyn. Kisel, being a socialist (or Aryan ), founded here a Protestant shrine, several Arian schools, where their "synods" took place and where many " Polish brothers " gathered. A scholar and expert on several European languages, E. Kisel, was around 1614 the first rector of a higher social school. In 1625, he was an adviser to the school where he himself taught and distributed Arianism in Volyn [1] .

In literature, E. Kisel is known for his poems in Greek (a poem on the death of Potocki was published in 1628), a translation into Greek of Thomas Kempisky 's book “ On the Imitation of Christ ”, published in Frankfurt an der Oder in 1626, and, in features, the polemical essay "Antapology", directed against the " Apologia " of Meletius (Smotrytsky) and caused by Smotrytsky's attacks on the Orthodox , for their sympathy, as if, to the teachings of Protestants and other heretics . "Antapology" was published in 1632, under the pseudonym Gelasius Diplitz, and is dedicated to Peter Mogile .
