Giovanni Cicconi ( Italian: Giovanni Cicconi ; 1938 , Milan - August 7, 2016 , Florence [1] ) - Italian pianist and music teacher.
He graduated from the music school in Teramo , then studied political science at the University of Rome and law at the University of Florence .
He performed as a soloist and in a duet with his wife, also pianist Rosa Maria Scarlino. He initiated the annual series of concerts in Florence “Musical Signs of Spring” ( Italian: Manifestazioni musicali di Primavera ), chamber concerts in the Uffizi Gallery .
He taught piano at the Pesaro Conservatory , then at Matera, and finally at the Florentine Conservatory named after Luigi Cherubini , in 1996-2003. its director. Among the various initiatives of Cicconi at the head of the conservatory is an experimental course on the history of music and musical instruments in elementary school, introduced in the commune of Bagno a Ripoli .
