The winning team received the right to represent Canada as its mixed doubles team (Team Canada, Team Canada ) at the 2018 World Cup , which was held in April 2018 in Lethbridge ( Alberta , Canada ).
32 teams participated in the championship.
The winners of the championship (for the first time in their history) were the Laura Crocker / Kirk Myers team, who defeated the Kadriana Sahaidak / Colton Lott team in the final. Chelsea Carey / Colin Hodgson and Joanne Courtney / Reed Carrazers lost the semi-finals.

Tournament Format
At the first, group stage ( Eng. Robin round ) teams are divided into 4 groups of 8 teams and play in a circular system in one circle. The three best teams from each group go to the second stage, playoffs . At the playoff stage, conducted according to the Olympic system , in the first “round of 12 teams” ( English Round of 12 ) there are teams that took 2nd and 3rd places in the group stage. The winners of the “round of 12 teams” go to the quarter finals, where they meet with teams that took 1st place in the groups. The winners of the quarter finals meet in the semifinals, the winners of the semifinals in the finals. Match for 3rd place is not held. [one]
