Ilya Lvovich Belakhov ( 1898 - 1941 ) - Soviet economic leader, director of the Institute of Cosmetics and Hygiene (now the Institute of Cosmetology and Plastic Surgery ), dermatologist .

Biography
He worked as an assistant professor at the Joint Venereological Institute (now the State Scientific Center for Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation ). In 1939 he was appointed director of the Institute of Cosmetics and Hygiene Glavparfyumera. On June 10, 1939 he was arrested on the basis of a warrant signed by V. N. Merkulov (according to the approved decision of B. Z. Kobulov ) on charges of belonging to an anti-Soviet organization that carried out subversive activities against party and government events. I. L. Belakhov wrote from prison:
“From the very first day of my arrest I was mercilessly beaten 3-4 times a day, and even on weekends. They beat him with rubber sticks and beat him in sexual parts. I was passing out. They burned me with burning cigarettes , doused me with water, brought me to my senses and beat me again. Then they bandaged him in an outpatient clinic , threw him into a punishment cell and beat him again the next day ... Beating me, they demanded that I confess that I had cohabited with gr. A pearl and that I am a spy . I could not slander a woman, for this is a lie ... I never engaged in espionage activities. They told me that I only wrote a small statement addressed to the people 's commissar that I plead guilty of this, and they will tell me the facts themselves. I couldn’t go for such a villainy . Then I was taken to Sukhanovskaya prison and beaten half to death. Unconscious on a stretcher sent to the cell. ” [one]
The torture did not force him to confess to the alleged crimes. Shot in accordance with the order of L.P. Beria 2756 / B of October 18, 1941 without trial . The monument at the Belakhov family grave at Vvedensky cemetery , plot 12, is a cenotaph ; he himself was buried in a mass grave at the place of execution near Saratov. Rehabilitated posthumously.
