It was founded in July 1974 by the Communists, who were faced with disagreements with the pro-Chinese Communist Party of Nepal under the leadership of Pushpa Lal Shrestha. The group was formed in western Nepal and in exile in India . The organization published a publication by Rato Jhanda (The Red Banner). The group’s ideology proclaimed “ Marxism-Leninism-ideas of Mao Zedong, ” and the goal was the creation of a militant and well-organized Communist Party . The group accused Man Mohan Adhikari , Pushpu Lal Shrestha and Mohan Bikram Singh of factionalism [1]

The group was reorganized in 1976 under the name Proletarian Revolutionary Organization, Nepal. In 1977, the group came up with a new analysis and proclaimed the theory of “ Boddhisattva-Maoism” [2] . She proclaimed the Buddha and Mao Zedong as representatives of the “same line of thinking”: “Until Mao’s ideas are combined with Buddhism , neither the Buddhist religion can be recognized nationwide, nor Mao’s ideas can transfer state power to the oppressed and exploited people of Nepal.”

However, most members of the organization did not accept the concept of a synthesis of Buddhism and Maoism. In 1978, disagreement broke out within the group, and it soon disappeared from the political scene. The remnants of the group entered the Workers 'and Peasants' Organization of Nepal [3]
