Functions
Membrane protein FZ-10 belongs to the Frizzled family of G-protein-coupled superfamilies . Frizzled are Wnt signaling protein receptors and are associated with the canonical beta-catenin signaling pathway. FZD9 may be involved in the regulation of cell polarity during morphogenesis and tissue differentiation.
Tissue specificity
The highest level of expression was found in the placenta and fetal kidneys, as well as in the fetal lungs and brain. In adult brains, high expression is localized in the cerebellum, as well as in the cerebral cortex, medulla oblongata, and spinal cord. Low levels of protein are found in the brain, heart, lungs, skeletal muscles, pancreas, spleen and prostate gland.
Interactions
Interacts with WNT7B and myocilin .
