Ivan Avakovich Avedov ( 1874–1939 ) [1] was a merchant [2] , a major entrepreneur [1] in the area of oil production. He lived in the Kuban . His status before the October Revolution was estimated at 2 million rubles [3] .

Biography
Ivan Avedov was born in 1874 [1] .
Ivan Avedov and his brother Stepan opened the “Trading House of S. and I. Avedova” in Armavir in the early 1890s. In 1894, entrepreneurs purchased a steam oil-processing plant, which at that time was already a fairly large and successful enterprise in Kuban [1] , originally organized by Ya. P. Popov in 1892 [4] .
In Armavir, Stepan and Ivan Avedova began to engage in the grain trade [3] .
The Avedov brothers submitted a petition to the City Duma of Ekaterinograd to allocate urban land for the construction of an oil mill. This request was granted in 1895 by the allocation of 6 tithes of land belonging to the city by AVEDOV [5] . The land plot was located not far from the railway [4] .
In 1899, they built a new creamery and organized the production of wooden packaging for the needs of their business. Up to 25 thousand poods of seeds were processed daily at the enterprise [3] [1] , it was called the “Buttermilk of the Avedov brothers” [6] . About 400 people worked at the Avedov brothers' enterprise [5] .
In 1913, the number of people who worked for the Avedov brothers was already 439 persons. They produced up to 35 thousand wooden semi-barrels and produced 650 thousand pounds of sunflower oil annually. When the plant was established and the laboratory worked, which drew the liquid vegetable fats in a solid state [3] .
At the beginning of the 20th century, Ivan Avedov continued to develop his business in Ekaterinodar, while his brother Stepan moved to Rostov-on-Don and continued his business there [1] . The construction of two oil mills cost the brothers about 1 million rubles, barns were built at the factories. The total capital of the brothers was about one and a half million rubles [4] .
Ivan Avedov in 1913 became the head of the joint stock company of the Southern oil milling and chemical plants "Salomas". This society eventually became a monopolist . After 2 years, he left his post and built another salolin factory in Armavir. The cost of this plant was estimated at 1.3 million rubles. The plant could produce up to 5,000 pounds of vegetable oil per day. The capital of Ivan Avedov was estimated at 2 million rubles [3] .

After the revolution of 1917 , the enterprises of Ivan Avedov were nationalized . He emigrated to France with his family, having lost his capital, but managed to organize his own taxi fleet abroad [3] .
Ivan Avedov died in 1939 [1] .
