Biography
The author of domestic and satirical poems (collections of "Songs of the Province", 1913 - 1921 , "Wide Wings", 1919 , "Songs for All Winds", 1927 ).
His social novel “Alexandersen” ( 1918 , translation into Russian - 1923) is a satire on bourgeois culture.
The story “Factory of Saints” ( 1919 , translation into Russian - 1924 ) was filmed in the USSR in 1930 by Yakov Protazanov . The Feast of St. Jorgen is a satire on the hypocrisy of the church and its ministers.
Before World War II, he was a Social Democrat. In 1946, he was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for cooperation with the German occupiers .
In 1948, he published a collection of poems, “Songs in Jail,” containing reflections on his life and work.
