He graduated from college in Adelaide . From the age of 19 he worked as a notary . Around the same time, he published his first poem. Published in "The Bulletin" e
Creativity
Dennis, a poet and satirist , describes the adventures of popular rogue people in his narrative stories.
Author of the poem "Songs of a Sentimental Guy" (1915). He also owns many poems and works for children.
His poem Songs of a Sentimental Guy sold 65,000 copies in the first year after publication (1916), and in 1917 he was the most prosperous poet in Australian history.
After his death, Australian Prime Minister J. Lyons compared CJ Dennis with Roberto Burns. [2]
